Manifest your dream life
"Get off your ass, jiggle it a little bit, and go after what you want in life."
A new CSBC podcast episode is out with , THEE inventor of Rat Girl Summer!
Writer and digital content creator Lola Kolade manifested every single detail about the life she’s living now — and she wants to teach you how to do it, too. She writes
, hosts the wonderful The New New podcast that I LOVE to listen to and learn from out on my hot girl walks, and has been making me laugh with real talk on TikTok for years — ever since she told me to get outside and have a Rat Girl Summer in 2023.When Lola says, “I mean, obviously you’re depressed, because you’re not throwing enough ass,” I listen. And I was overjoyed to get to talk to her about creating your own career path far away from the corporate world and playing life like it’s a video game, complete with exciting side quests and adventures that are perfectly suited to your character.
“We're all here to live lives that are distinct to us,” Lola says. “You're not supposed to be chasing after what other people have achieved, trying to replicate their lives exactly. You're not supposed to be chasing after these arbitrary measures of success, these things that the external world constitutes prestigious. You're supposed to go with it, find what really matters to you, and have the faith that you will be rewarded for living as you and not trying to be anybody else.”

In this ep, Lola talks about the science behind manifestation, including the quantum fields, aka the quantum mechanics framework that all possible time dimensions exist and are happening right now — which is incidentally something I’ve written about here before! Basically, she believes that everything you want is possible for each of us — we just have to be our authentic selves and actually go for it.

Lola told me, “The most meaningful thing I’ve ever manifested is definitely my entire life. Literally everything that I’m doing. I work for myself, I make a living being creative, I talk about what I care about, I write about what I care about. I hang out with cool, interesting people and I interview them. And I created that.” How incredible is that?
After our conversation, I went on a long walk and thought about what my values, priorities, and big dreams are right now. Five years ago, I dreamed of having so many parts of the life I have now. I manifested that! I built this freelance life brick by brick!
And now, as life goes, I’m ready to manifest an entirely new set of dreams. I wrote in my Notes:
Personal values and mission 2025
Have deep, intimate relationships. Be truly seen and known, truly see and know others.
Truly see and know myself as best I can. No hiding from myself.
Be brave. Tackle as many of my true desires as I can.
Travel and experience as much beauty in this world as possible.
Make the people I love in this world feel seen and beloved. Make a difference in their lives.
Be more community-minded. Continue to shed the American imperialist independent attitude I was brought up with.
Work less, experience more. And rest more.
Languish in books and writing.
Make my art. And help others make theirs while I’m at it.
Make as much as I need, then practice ENOUGH. Put work behind life, love, and rest.
Be grateful every day. And live in gratitude, never forgetting all the gifts you’ve been give. Use them take them and give them back.
Something Lola said is really going to stick with me as I make plans to travel long term, and create new offerings for my business, and eventually move on from Austin to wherever my next home may be:
“I understand the fear of being ostracized by putting yourself out there and trying something new. But at the same time, the opportunities that you want, they're not going to knock on your door and throw open the blinds and say good morning. You have to put something out there to get them.
And the truth is, everyone that you look at and you admire and you go, ‘Oh, I wish I could be like them.’ You are like them. They just made a choice that you didn't.
If you watch a content creator and you're like, ‘Oh, I wish that I could live that lifestyle,’ but you're not making any content? You're playing yourself. I'm sorry. You're celebrating them for making a choice that you have every possibility of making. You just haven't decided to yet.”

Today, I challenge you to take some time and make your own list. Don’t wait to go after what you really want. Don’t limit yourself. Don’t let others limit you, either. Anything you want is possible.
And put Lola’s golden advice into action: “Get off your ass, jiggle it a little bit, and go after what you want.” 💫
