The best lesson of dating in my twenties has been to be a romantic while in a relationship, but not outside of it. This has prevented me from starting drama and embarrassing myself with exes! I am allowed to overindulge in heartache--but only in private or with close friends. Never in a way that might put me in the path of said-ex!
